Des Moines Public Library Foundation

The Des Moines Public Library Foundation is a nonprofit community Foundation founded in 1998 to promote, facilitate and implement collaboration between public and private funding sources in support of ensuring outstanding public library services

Money raised by the Foundation supports programs that cannot be provided by the operating budget of the Des Moines Public Library. These programs are sponsored or hosted by the Foundation and its generous donors.

The Foundation will also provide funding to the Des Moines Public Library to enhance its collections, facilities and services, both traditional and technological, beyond what tax dollars provide.

* It is important to note that Foundation funds are not used to
replace or supplant city funding.
